Winter goodness
The winter season is upon us – come in and see how we make the most of some great produce, such as: Juicy blood oranges – perfect for our Petti Rosso aperitivo (blood orange juice, prosecco and campari). Radicchio rosso di Treviso, grilled and served with our Fish of the day. Fresh Porcini mushrooms are among the most flavoursome and prized mushrooms in the world. We invite you to join us for a very special dinner to celebrate this most delicious ingredient. Porcini Dinner – Wednesday 27th June, 2012
Porcini mushrooms – if you have ever eaten a real fresh one, you know exactly what we are talking about. If you haven’t, then what are you waiting for? Air freighted from Italy via Waimea Trading – this dinner is not to be missed.
Signature Dish – Pesce al sale
Those of you “in the know” may have already enjoyed one of our great Signature dishes. The whole snapper baked in rock salt, a dish Lucio has been serving for nearly 30 years, is quite simply one of the most delicious ways to eat fish. The whole fish is baked in a completely sealed salt crust, allowing the flesh to remain succulently moist. Silver served at the table with more than a little showmanship, the salt crust is removed, the fish filleted and served with a light salsa of freshly diced tomatoes, extra virgin olive & lemon juice. Ideally serving two to six guests as a main course, Lucio can extended the number of portions with the addition of grilled prawns or scampi if required. Twenty four hours notice is essential to order the perfect sized snapper for your table, and there is a limit of two fish per service. |

When Lucio was featured on the front cover of Vogue Entertaining it was quite an honour! His good friend and Melbourne artist, Victor Rubin then honoured him even further by painstakingly creating a beautiful collage of actual covers, paint & card – a detail of which can be seen above. Next time you are in the restaurant, do have a look at the whole work – it is quite extraordinary and of course, unique. |
